Natural Gas Pipeline Co., an affiliate of Kinder Morgan, said last week it is advancing development of its Amarillo expansion project. It is designed to help meet growing demand for natural gas in the Panhandle of Texas. The expansion is expected to provide incremental transportation capacity of up to 550,000 dekatherms per day.
The company said the project will cost about $200 million, including Kinder Morgan’s share of $75 million. It is forecast to be in service in the third quarter of 2028. Houston-based Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America.
