Oil & Gas Journal reported last week that the in-service date for the expansion of Permian Highway natural gas pipeline by Kinder Morgan has been delayed again to December 2023. Kinder Morgan attributed the delay to supply chain constraints. Capacity is being expanded by 550 million cubic feet per day for the 430-mile pipeline to transport increased natural gas production from Waha in Permian Basin to Katy and other Gulf Coast markets. The 2.1 Bcfd pipeline is owned by Kinder Morgan, Kinetik Holdings and ExxonMobil.
The project primarily involves additional compression; it includes modifications to the existing compressor facility in Pecos County and new compression locations in Caldwell, Kimble, Schleicher and Upton counties.
