Midland-based Kinetik Holdings said recently it will proceed with development of natural gas processing plant Kings Landing II and increase its capacity to 300 million cubic feet per day from 200 million cfd. KLII is located at the company’s Kings Landing complex in Eddy County, N.M. Jamie Welch, president and CEO, said May 19 the announcement “reflects the strength of our existing acreage footprint, the accelerated pace of customer development plans, and sustained commercial momentum.”
According to Welch, the design and construction of KLII preserves the ability to add a third processing plant at Kings Landing with capacity of 200 million cfd.
Completion is expected in second half of 2028 when Kinetik’s system capacity will exceed 2.7 billion cfd, including 700 million cfd of sour gas processing capacity in Eddy and Lea counties. KLII is expected to cost $260 million.
