Tulsa-based Magellan Midstream Partners said Dec. 20 it will expand its pipeline transporting gasoline to Abilene and El Paso in west Texas and on to New Mexico, Arizona and Mexico to 175,000 barrels per day from 100,000 b/d. It’s the western leg of Magellan’s refined products pipeline known as the South system. Magellan also is building a refined products storage terminal in Midland. The expanded pipeline and new storage terminal are expected to begin operations in mid-2020.
