Two companies that operate primarily in Permian Basin are among the top five in Enverus Intelligence Research’s list of the top 100 private oil and gas producers in the U.S. based on gross operated production in 2022. Rockies operator Continental Resources, a newcomer to Enverus’ chart, leads the list at 591,315 boed.
Permian operators Mewbourne Oil of Tyler (third at 360,058 boed) and Midland’s Endeavor Energy (fifth at 279,764 boed) are ranked among the top five.
Another Midland-based company, CrownQuest, is ranked 12th again with 149,185 boed.
“Enverus is uniquely positioned to provide a list of private companies that investors and operators need to pay attention to,” Gibson Scott of Enverus Intelligence Research said. “Private companies deliver a large proportion of domestic production and keeping a finger on their pulse can help forecast regional supply/demand imbalances.”
