Midland Inspires, a new nonprofit philanthropic organization, which itself benefits other area nonprofits, has announced the selection of eight nonprofits (from an earlier list of 23) that advance to the next step in their qualifying process. The eight organizations are: Boys and Girls Club, Breaking Bread Ministries, Bynum School, Communities in Schools Permian Basin, Family Promise, Field’s Edge, Midland Rape Crisis Center, and Reflection Ministries. These nonprofits were invited to submit full grant proposals to Midland Inspires by April 16. Their proposals will be evaluated for credibility, capability, commitment, feasibility, and significance.
Midland Inspires is a community of women who “seek to transform lives through high-impact and lifelong giving.” The organization will award its self-funded $100,000 transformational grant this July to a worthy nonprofit that addresses a critical social need in Midland County. The organization currently has 135 members, whom they call “Philanthrobabes.” They welcome inquiries from all women who seek to enhance lives in Midland County. The organization’s website, MidlandInspires.org, offers information about the organization and its grantmaking process.
