Midland-based Vision Oil and Gas recently said it is expanding its operations in Permian Basin and Anadarko Basin in Mid Continent. Vision is acquiring 114 wells in Cochran, Mitchell, Reeves, Reagan and Ward counties in west Texas and 320 wells in Anadarko in six transactions. Vision said it’s “the first substantial play for the company outside of the Permian Basin.”
According to Vision, more than 90 percent of these Anadarko wells were shut in by BP or Range Resources, and Vision anticipates stabilized production of 10,000 to 15,000 mcf per day after the field is reactivated. The wells acquired in Permian Basin now are producing 35 b/d in oil, but the company anticipates a return to production of 150 to 200 b/d of oil after well intervention and cleanouts have been completed.
Vision said March 17 it’s made 14 total acquisitions since June 2025 and now holds 1,062 wells.
