Houston-based Milestone Carbon, subsidiary of Milestone Environmental Services, said recently it will lease more than 22,000 acres of land and pore space from Texas Pacific Land Corp. in Loving and Midland counties for permanent geologic sequestration of CO2. The acreage will support carbon capture and storage at industrial facilities in west Texas, including natural gas processing and power plants.
Gabriel Rio, president and CEO, said Oct. 19, “Our long history of operational excellence in this space makes us uniquely positioned to offer permanent carbon sequestration of carbon dioxide to industrial emitters.” Chris Davis, executive vice president, added, “The addition of acreage from TPLC significantly expands our ability to provide low-cost solutions to heavy industry and energy producers seeking to reduce emissions.”
