Since its launch in 2022, Tenaris’s torque turn monitoring service has been used for the running of 50 million feet of OCTG (oil country tubular goods) in more than 2,500 jobs in the United States and Canada. The service stands out in the market by providing real-time torque data collection and analysis at the well. Managed on-site by Tenaris field service specialists, this technology is designed to improve precision in well construction operations. Tenaris states that it enhances the reliability of the connection make-up, reduces the risk of errors, and improves the overall integrity of the assembly. The system also boosts operational efficiency and quality control, ensuring that casing installation meets standards. Currently tackling an average of 160 jobs each month in North America, the service reputedly improves operating efficiencies and simplifies the tubular running process for customers. The torque turn monitoring service is included within a suite of technical that Tenaris is introducing to support well integrity under its Rig Direct service program.
César Gutiérrez, Tenaris Field Services Global Senior Director, said, “Our understanding of the characteristics of each connection we install and our extensive experience in pipe running processes are key differentiators that ensure the quality of our torque turn monitoring service…. Following its successful adoption in the United States and Canada, we are now expanding the service globally as part of our WISER service suite to support well integrity.”
