Findlay, Ohio-based MPLX said this week construction is underway in Delaware Basin on its sixth natural gas processing plant. Preakness II with capacity of 200 million cfd is expected online in firsthalf 2024. MPLX also is planning to build Secretariat with 200 million cfd, its seventh processing plant in Delaware Basin. Startup is expected in secondhalf 2025. MPLX said Tuesday these new plants will bring MPLX processing capacity in Delaware Basin to 1.4 billion cfd.
MPLX said it also is expanding Whistler crude oil pipeline to 2.5 billion cfd from 2 billion cfd and Agua Dulce Corpus Christi pipeline lateral with startup expected in September.
MPLX was formed by Marathon in 2012 to own, operate, develop and acquire midstream energy infrastructure.
