Occidental and Pioneer Natural Resources continue to lead Permian Basin in rig count as of March 1, according to Enverus. Occidental leads with 26 drilling rigs followed by Pioneer with 22. Other Permian leaders are Mewbourne with 19, EOG Resources with 18, Devon Energy with 17, ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil each with 16, Diamondback Energy with 15, Permian Resources with 13 and Chevron with 12.
Enverus said for 30 days to Feb. 16 the leader in permits was EOG Resources with 57 followed by Mewbourne with 43, Occidental with 40, ConocoPhillips with 37, Diamondback with 36 and Franklin Mountain Energy with 35. Others include Chevron with 29, Endeavor with 28, BP with 25 and Permian Resources with 24.
