OFS Sees Steady Employment Growth

June 1, 2025 by PBOG Leave a Comment

The Energy Workforce and Technology Council (EWTC) released on April 4 its March 2025 jobs report, highlighting continued employment growth and stability within the U.S. energy services sector. Total jobs in the sector rose to 640,212 in March 2025, reflecting a gain of 653 positions over February, according to preliminary data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and analysis conducted by the EWTC. Nationwide, the U.S. labor market demonstrated unexpected strength in March, with employers adding 228,000 jobs, significantly surpassing economists’ forecasts of 140,000. Despite this employment growth, the national unemployment rate edged up slightly to 4.2 percent from 4.1 percent in February, as more individuals entered the labor force.

Energy Workforce President Molly Determan said that even amid economic uncertainty and growing instability from potential disruptions in supply chains, the energy services sector continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience. “This month’s job growth underscores the strength of our workforce and its critical role in driving energy production,” Determan said. “We remain committed to advancing policies that support domestic development and ensure long-term stability for energy workers across the country.”
