U.S. Energy Information Agency said last week crude oil production in U.S. increased to a record 13.401 million barrels per day in August. That includes a record 5.818 million b/d in Texas – 1.7 percent above the previous month. And EIA said Oct. 31 production in New Mexico also was a record of 2.092 million b/d – up 2.8 percent above the previous month and up 16.3 percent from the same time last year. The U.S. production was up 1.5 percent in the past month, and it topped the previous record of 13.31 million b/d in December 2023.
Production of crude oil in Texas was 5.719 million b/d in July 2024 and 5.603 million b/d in August 2023. And production of crude oil in New Mexico was 2.035 million b/d in July 2024 and 1.799 million b/d in August 2023.
Previous monthly records were 5.76 million b/d in Texas in June and 2.04 million b/d in New Mexico in July.
