Election day is Tuesday, March 5, for Texas’ primary elections for federal, state and local offices. Included is an election for one of three seats on the Railroad Commission of Texas, the agency that regulates the state’s oil and gas industry.
Candidates on the Republican ballot are incumbent Christi Craddick of Midland, current chair of the commission who has been a member since 2012, and primary challenger Jim Matlock of Nacogdoches, an independent consultant in the oil and gas industry.
Primary candidates on the Democratic ballot are drilling engineer and well control expert Bill Burch of Livingston and process safety engineer Katherine Culbert of Houston.
Early voting ends Friday, March 1.
