Houston-based OneEnergy Partners said Jan. 27 an affiliate acquired Midland-based Trainer Partners. As of Dec. 31, 2021, the acquired portfolio consisted of royalties and working interests in Eddy and Lea counties in New Mexico, Roger Mills County in Oklahoma, and Andrews, Gaines, Hemphill and Midland counties in Texas. Ahmad Salman, OneEnergy CEO, called Trainer “one of the last family-run oil and gas companies in the Permian Basin.” It began in 1956.
Salman added, “We have enjoyed knowing and working with the Trainer family for the better part of a decade. The OneEnergy team is grateful for the opportunity to continue the legacy of founder C.W. Trainer and the Trainer family as the third generation of oil and gas entrepreneurs to manage this company and its assets.”
