Occidental Petroleum and Pioneer Natural Resources lead the Permian Basin in active drilling rigs as of May 31, according to Enverus. Both reported 22 working rigs followed by Mewbourne Oil with 19, EOG Resources with 17, ConocoPhillips and Devon Energy each with 16, and ExxonMobil with 15.
Permian Basin remains the leader in frac crews by region with 109 as of May 17. Other leaders include Gulf Coast with 38, Rockies with 31, Eastern with 15 and Mid-Continent with 10. Permian’s count is down from 121 crews the previous week and 154 the previous year.
Enverus said ConocoPhillips is the U.S. leader with 31 working rigs as of May 31 followed by EOG with 28, Occidental with 26, Mewbourne with 25, Continental Resources with 23, Pioneer with 22 and Chevron with 20.
