Houston-based Peak 10 Energy said last week it acquired oil and gas assets in Midland Basin from Black Topaz Oil & Gas and Blue Topaz Oil & Gas. The Verado Energy acquisition, which closed Aug. 29, marks Peak 10’s eighth successful transaction since the company launched in August 2023.
The assets are in the Strawn play of Hermleigh field in Scurry County, and they add scale, inventory and liquid-weighted production (70 percent liquids) to a core operating area for Peak 10. The assets delivered about 430 b/d of oil and 3.1 million cfd in June.
Kyle McQuire, CEO of Peak 10, said Sept. 4, “Our track record in Texas, particularly with our operated positions, has proven that Peak 10 is a reliable and effective steward of high-quality oil and gas assets.”
