Permian Basin reports 2022 year-to-date high rig count of 352

Permian Basin and U.S. reported high rig counts for 2022 year-to-date in the weekly report of Nov. 23 from Baker Hughes.  In the last report before Thanksgiving, there were 352 rigs in Permian (349 week ago, 280 year ago), 372 in Texas (375 week ago, 273 year ago), 105 in New Mexico (103 week ago, 83 year ago) and 784 in U.S. (782 week ago, 569 year ago).  Texas was only producing state reporting a decline in rig count last week.  High rig counts to date in 2022 are 375 in Texas and 113 in New Mexico.  U.S. count has reached a 2022 high in five of the last seven weeks.

Oklahoma with 70 rigs (up 1 in past week) is No. 3 among states followed by Louisiana with 66 (up 1) and North Dakota with 38.  Eagle Ford in south Texas is No. 2 among regions with 71 rigs (unchanged) followed by Haynesville with 69 (down 1), Williston with 42 and Marcellus with 39.  New Mexico counties of Lea (up 5 to 65) and Eddy (down 3 to 37) remain Permian’s leaders followed by Reeves (down 2 to 36), Martin (down 2 to 36), Midland (up 1 to 32), Loving (up 2 to 26) and Howard (unchanged at 19).
