U.S. Energy Information Administration expects continued growth in crude oil production in Permian Basin and seven major producing regions. In the latest drilling productivity report May 16, EIA said oil production in Permian is expected to grow by 88,000 b/d since last month to 5.219 million b/d in June. Production in the seven U.S. regions is expected to grow by 142,000 b/d to 8.761 million b/d. Eagle Ford production is forecast to grow to 1.176 million b/d.
EIA expects natural gas production also to increase by 750 million cfd in June to 91.750 billion cfd in the seven regions. Permian will increase by 169 million cfd to 20.039 billion cfd in June. Appalachia remains the leader with 35.670 billion cfd in June (up 194 million cfd), and Haynesville expects the largest monthly increase of 239 million cfd to 15.102 billion cfd.
The count of drilled but uncompleted wells (DUC) continues to decline to 4,223 in April (4,293 DUC wells in March) in seven regions. Permian is the leader with 1,256 DUC wells in April – down from 1,302 in March.
