U.S. Energy Information Administration said another small increase is expected next month in crude oil production in seven major U.S. shale regions – led again by Permian Basin. Permian will grow by 53,000 barrels per day to 4.700 million b/d from 4.647 million b/d. Production in seven regions will grow by 42,000 b/d to 7.907 million b/d. Only other increase is forecast in Appalachia.
In the EIA forecast for natural gas production for August, Haynesville and Permian are the only regions expected to increase. Haynesville will grow by 145 million cubic feet per day to 13.482 billion cfd, and Permian will increase by 46 million cfd to 18.076 billion cfd. Across all seven regions, production will be up by 46 million cfd to 85.506 billion cfd. Appalachia remains the gas production leader.
Also in the EIA drilling productivity report of July 12, Permian led with 2,475 DUC wells in June (drilled but uncompleted) despite falling by 123 DUC wells from 2,598 in May. There were 6,252 DUC wells in June in seven regions – down by 269 DUC wells from 6,521 in May.
