They are followed by Midland with 29 rigs, Martin and Reeves with 22 each, and Howard with 21. Permian Basin added 6 rigs in the past week to reach 294 (173 year ago), Texas has 279 rigs (275 week ago, 159 year ago), New Mexico has 93 rigs (89 week ago, 65 year ago), and U.S. has 586 rigs (579 week ago, 348 year ago).
Oklahoma equals Louisiana with 48 rigs, and North Dakota is fifth among states with 27. Haynesville remains No. 2 among regions with 48 rigs followed by Eagle Ford with 44, Marcellus with 29, and Williston and Cana Woodford with 27 each.
