Columbian state-controlled petroleum company Ecopetrol said last week production is expected to begin by yearend from two wells drilled in Midland Basin in its joint venture with Occidental Petroleum. Two other wells are in final stages of completion; they expect to have four wells operating by yearend 2020. The joint venture was announced in July to develop 97,000 net acres of unconventional deposits in Oxy properties in Howard, Martin and Midland counties. Ecopetrol expects proved reserves of 160 million boe by yearend. Oxy retains 51 percent interest in Rodeo Midland Basin, and Ecopetrol owns 49 percent
