Only ExxonMobil and EOG Resources among the top 10 operators in the U.S. report more active drilling rigs now than one year ago. Enverus said in its Drilldown Report of Dec. 2 that ExxonMobil continues to lead U.S. operators with 37 working rigs as of Nov. 28 with a weekly average of 36.3 rigs (35.3 a year ago). Other leaders include Occidental with 25 rigs (weekly average of 25.0), ConocoPhillips with 24 rigs (24.0), EOG with 23 rigs (23.0) and Mewbourne Oil with 22 rigs (22.0). A year ago EOG reported an average of 22.0.
ExxonMobil leads in Permian Basin with 34.4 rigs followed by Occidental with 20.0, Diamondback with 15.4, Mewbourne with 15.0, EOG with 14.0, ConocoPhillips with 13.0 and Permian Resources with 11.7.
Enverus reported an average of 250.6 rigs in Permian Basin, including 135.4 in Delaware Basin and 92.7 in Midland Basin.
As of Nov. 14, there were 84 frac crews in Permian Basin among 148 crews across the U.S. That compares to 82 crews in Permian and 168 in U.S. one year ago. And as of Nov. 7 there were 2,020 DUC wells (drilled but uncompleted) in Permian Basin among 3,961 in U.S. – both significantly down from counts of 2,561 in Permian and 5,057 in U.S. one year ago.
