Reuters reported Thursday that Occidental Petroleum CEO Vicki Hollub is preparing to retire after a decade of leadership for the U.S. oil and gas major. Hollub, 66, plans to make a formal announcement later this year, sources told Reuters, although “the ongoing conflict in the Middle East … could reshape her plans.” Reuters said no firm date has been set for her retirement.
Hollub was the first woman to lead a U.S. major oil and gas company. Previously she directed Oxy’s Permian Basin operations. Reuters said Richard Jackson, who was named COO in October, is expected to become CEO upon Hollub’s exit.
