Oil and gas operators in Permian Basin and elsewhere continued their pause in new drilling activity, according to the Baker Hughes report for June 3. There were 342 rigs in Permian Basin (unchanged in past week, up 110 in past year), 357 in Texas (down 1 in past week, up 141 in past year), 98 in New Mexico (unchanged in past week, up 25 in past year) and 727 in U.S. (unchanged in past week, up 271 in past year). No region and only one state (Wyoming) added rigs last week.
Louisiana remains No. 3 among states with 61 rigs followed closely by Oklahoma with 59 and North Dakota with 35. Haynesville remains No. 2 among regions with 68 rigs followed by Eagle Ford with 66, Marcellus with 39 and Williston with 38.
