San Diego, Calif.-based Royale Energy said last week it is drilling and completing its fifth and sixth wells in its joint venture with Ares Energy in Permian Basin. The project is a horizontal resource play in the Mississippian interval on 17,000 net acres in Ector County. Royale and its investors have a 5 percent working interest in the fifth and sixth wells with four wells currently producing.
The fifth well is expected to be on production in late 2Q, and the sixth well is expected to be on production in late 2Q or early 3Q. Royale said May 30 the fifth well was in early stages of flowback and currently producing 700 b/d of oil and 850,000 cfd of natural gas.
