Houston-based Summit Midstream is expanding its Double E natural gas pipeline in Permian Basin with new long-term transportation agreements and planned capacity increase of up to 50 percent. A mainline compression project will increase capacity from 1.6 billion cubic feet per day to 2.4 Bcfd by yearend 2028.
Summit Midstream also continues to expand the downstream connectivity of the Double E gas pipeline. Summit said 7 rigs currently are running, there are about 90 DUC wells, and 116-to-126 wells are expected to come online this year. Heath Deneke, president, CEO and chairman, said March 16, “With the signing of major long-term agreements on the Double E pipeline and in the Williston Basin, we are building strong commercial momentum in our Permian and Rockies segments.”
A new transportation agreement with Producers Midstream II is expected to go into effect in 2026Q4 after a final investment decision on Train II of its Dude processing plant in Lea County, N.M.
