Kimberly A. Dang, Texas A&M graduate who is the first woman to lead Houston pipeline giant Kinder Morgan, says she doesn’t think about that achievement. “I don’t think about that,” she told Houston Chronicle. “I grew up with brothers, playing football in the front yard. It’s more about how do you – the person that you are – be successful. The way I phrase it: doing the best that you can with the talents that you’ve been given in the time allotted.”
The Chronicle said energy companies such as Kinder Morgan are considering how to meet the energy needs of today while laying groundwork for a future model that uses less fossil fuel. “We’re going to turn the ship,” Dang said of the energy transition, “but we’re going to turn it slowly.” A Kinder Morgan executive since 2001, she previously served as vice president, treasurer and CFO. She earned MBA from Northwestern University.
