Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association said Texas direct upstream employment for September was 202,900 – an increase of 900 from August 2022 and 34,000 from September 2021. TIPRO said in September there were 11,382 active unique industry job postings in Texas, including 4,181 in Houston, 1,028 in Midland and 541 in Odessa. Top three companies in postings were Baker Hughes (602 positions), Energy Transfer (498) and KBR (435).
Ed Longanecker, TIPRO president, said, “OPEC’s oil output and geopolitical conflicts make clear why it is so important for U.S. to encourage domestic production and to continue exporting our resources. Continued investment in energy infrastructure like LNG export terminals, pipelines and refineries is also essential… Constantly pointing the finger at energy producers will not lower global prices… Global energy markets determine the costs of petroleum products.”
