On the dates of Aug. 12-14, dozens of loyal Garrison Brothers fans flocked to the Gage Hotel, in Marathon, Texas, for the Bourbon Excursion, a week dedicated to enjoying good bourbon and raising money for “Good Bourbon For A Good Cause.” The event benefits a 501c3 charity dedicated to providing support for good causes across Texas, including, in this case, a 100-year plan to renovate the legendary Balmorhea State Park. The charity was formed by Nancy and Dan Garrison and the employees of Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas.
As a spokesperson for the group, Meghan McCamant, stated, “We believe good bourbon can change the world and one way we are proving that is by majorly focusing on the restoration and beautification of Balmorhea State Park.”
