Texas Water Development Board is accepting public input for another week before it implements the Texas Water Fund, a special fund in the state treasury outside the general revenue fund to be administered by TWDB. Voters in November approved $1 billion to address the state’s water supply issues and infrastructure as climate change and a growing population increase pressure on the state’s water resources.
Public meetings have been held across the state (April 11 in Lubbock), and comments also are accepted and surveys are available on the TWDB website. After public comment ends April 30, the board is expected to finalize guidelines and rules by this fall.
