The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) released on Nov. 2 the following statement on the President’s Executive Order concerning hydraulic fracturing from President Jason McFarland.
“IADC welcomes the Administration’s efforts to take a serious look at the plethora of economic benefits that hydraulic fracturing brings to the United States. Experts widely agree that this technology has enabled our nation to become the world leader in energy production as well as help achieve record emissions reductions through the increased use of natural gas displacing coal.”
“With more than 95 percent of U.S. new natural gas and oil wells today being developed using hydraulic fracturing, this technology plays a crucial role in allowing our drilling contractors to continue to secure reliable energy for Americans everywhere.”
“IADC commends the Administration’s efforts to study the economic impacts of this technology and fully supports the continued development of safe and innovative drilling methods.”
