And so do the goodies at La Bodega.
Where to Eat:
Cheese Chile Relleno, you are marvelous. Let me count the ways. Your gooey center surrounded by spicy peppery goodness. Your layer of perfectly fried dough—of course you’re fried, you couldn’t be any other way. Your blanket of sweet and spicy fresh tomato sauce, perfectly acidic to complement the richness of your dough and cheese. Sour cream, tart and smooth. Pecans… adding just the right richness. And finally raisins, the sweet finish to the perfect dish. I can’t help but wax poetic about my favorite meals on the planet. La Bodega Mexican Restaurant on Big Spring Street in Midland has perfected the Chile Relleno… and it keeps bringing me back. I’ve eaten them for decades. Their take on the Chile Relleno isn’t Mexican, it isn’t Tex-Mex—it’s their own tasty invention. I know you’re thinking… raisins and pecans? On a Relleno? That’s crazy. It’s crazy good… that’s what it is. La Bodega also has fantastic enchiladas, nachos, fajitas, chalupas, tacos, tamales, and a number of one-of-a-kind dishes too. The Delmar Shrimp Salad is a fantastic tropical seafood salad served in a pineapple. Plus you can get shrimp cocktail both American style and Mexican style. Every dish is great. If you can’t get over to Midland, there’s a La Bodega in Odessa as well, so come in and get your Chile Relleno fix, or try something new.

This high-tech flying machine records videos and pictures straight from the piloting app. By tilting your controller, you control the direction of the quadricopter, and by releasing the control, the drone is immediately stabilized. Who to See:
December 18 is the diem to denote on your calendar for the that-night-only show the Wagner-Noel Performance Hall is calling “Robert Earl Keen Christmas.” Says the venue: “Some people take up a life of playing music with the goal of someday reaching a destination of fame and fortune; but from the get-go, Keen just wanted to write and sing his own songs, and to keep writing and singing them for as long as possible. ‘I always thought that I wanted to play music, and I always knew that you had to get some recognition in order to continue to play music,’ Keen says. ‘But I never thought of it in terms of getting to be a big star. I thought of it in terms of having a really, really good career and writing some good songs, and getting onstage and having a really good time.’” The road goes on forever, and the party never ends.
