Those sagacious sayings, that is. A little trip down Memory Lane for fans of a classic western, and some collected wisdom, to boot.
We were so taken with the colorful quotes from CUDD general manager Clint Walker that appear in our profile on him in this issue, that we just had to reflect on another Clint Walker—the actor who starred as Cheyenne Bodie in the ABC Television series Cheyenne. Yes, this is totally random. We’re either restless or just simple.
“Money is no measure of a partner’s worth.”
“Never let another man goad you into a fight.”
“Part of growing up to be a man is owning up to when you’re wrong.”
“Marriage is more than just finding a man that you like the looks of or that you don’t mind being touched by.”
“Well Senator, isn’t that what they call a pork barrel?”
“A man short on fear is short on sense.”
“If you could tell a murderer by looking at him, there wouldn’t be any.”
“Don’t tell me. You want to know if I’m restless or just simple?”

“There’s a lot of money in the frac business. It’s a service business, but it’s a tough business, the way service businesses can be. I was in the acid business for a few years—another service business. And it was tough—I don’t care what others may say.”
—Paul Kenworthy, Kenworthy Oil Company, who is quoted in our article in the last issue on “How the Other Half Lives”
“Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth’s surface relatively to other such matters; second, telling other people to do so.”
