Texas Oil and Gas Association reported Monday record amounts of natural gas production in the state this year. TXOGA said natural gas withdrawals rose to 36.9 billion cfd in May with marketed production reaching a record 34.4 billion cfd. Crude oil production remained steady at 5.7 million b/d. Todd Staples, president, said, “With abundant natural resources, top-tier infrastructure, and an ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement, this industry reliably delivers for families, communities and our trading partners at home and across the globe.”
TXOGA said in March Texas produced 27.7 billion cfd of dry natural gas – supplying 11.8 billion cfd to in-state consumers (primarily for industrial use and electricity generation) while exporting 12.5 billion cfd. Europe received 61 percent of Texas LNG exports and 40 percent of crude oil exports. In the first 5 months of 2025, Texas produced 42.2 percent of U.S. total crude oil production and 29.2 percent of U.S. marketed natural gas production.
