Houston-based Ranger Energy Services said last week it acquired American Well Services from Argonaut Private Equity to expand its Permian Basin footprint. American Well Services is a well services provider focused in Permian Basin. The $90.5 million acquisition expands scale for Ranger by increasing its rig count about 25 percent and confirming its position as the largest well services provider in the lower 48.
Stuart Bodden, Ranger’s CEO, said Nov. 10, “With the acquisition of AWS, Ranger is the largest well services provider in the United States and uniquely positioned to capitalize on a market recovery while expanding reach to customers with our new technology… Ranger will be adding service lines that have high pull through opportunities that the AWS team has benefited from in the past few years.”
