Position Summary: Responsible for performing welding repairs for heavy equipment and machinery and fabricating of metals parts and projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Performs welding repairs for heavy equipment and machinery and fabricating of metals parts and projects under general supervision of a supervisor.
•Performs maintenance, repair, fabricating, welding, remodeling and construction on a variety of metal products from samples and sketches.
•Performs diagnosis and repair on equipment and/or structure for problems in accordance with company and industry standards and safety procedures.
•Performs manual forging, shaping, straightening, sizing, dressing and heat treating of metal products, etc.
•Operates acetylene cutting torch, air arc gouge, plasma arc cutter, welding machine, mig machine, grinders, etc. to join, surface, fabricate or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to specifications.
•Performs a variety of welding techniques including GMAW (gas metal arc welding) FAW (flux-core arc welding), SMAW (shielded metal arc welding).
•Maintains and inspects equipment and work area ensuring a clean, safe and hazard free work environment and equipment in proper working condition.
•Maintains accurate records of materials used and hours worked for billing purposes, and maintains stock of all necessary supplies.
•Inspects completed work for conformance to established specifications.
•Performs other related duties as required.
Educational and Other Requirements:
•High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
•One to two years work related skill, knowledge, hands-on experience or vocational training preferred.
•Knowledge of welding tools such as: torches, welders and welding equipment requirements and usage.
•General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
•Sensitive to confidential information.
•Must work independently and as a member of team.
