Baker Hughes reported increased rig counts in Permian Basin, New Mexico and U.S. in its weekly report of Nov. 14. Texas’ count was unchanged in the past week with 234 rigs (down 45 or 16.1 percent from 279 in the past year). Texas’ flat count stopped a streak of six straight weeks of declining rig counts from 246 as of Sept. 26.
Permian Basin reported 253 rigs (up 2 in previous week, down 50 or 16.5 percent in past year), New Mexico had 105 rigs (up 2 in previous week, up 3 in past year), and U.S. had 549 rigs (up 1 in past week, down 35 or 5.99 percent in past year).
Also as of Nov. 14, Eagle Ford and Haynesville each had 41 rigs followed by Williston with 29 and Marcellus with 23. And among states, Louisiana was third with 44 followed by Oklahoma with 41 and North Dakota with 28.
