Denver-based Tejon Treating and Carbon Solutions said recently it completed Phase II expansion of its Mongoose amine treating plant and gas gathering network to accommodate rising production of sour gas. The expansion was completed May 29 to increase capacity of the Mongoose plant in Westbrook in Mitchell County in Midland Basin by 53 million cfd from its Phase I capacity of 17 million cfd.
Tejon also is adding multiple downstream delivery points, including connection to a new substation in Howard County that enables 100 percent electrification of the Mongoose plant and its compressor station. Tejon now operates more than 90 miles of pipeline and 70 million cfd of amine treating capacity to handle sour gas volumes it receives from multiple Midland Basin producers from more than 137,000 dedicated acres.
Mike Solomon, president, said, “With new plant capacity, expanded takeaway options and electrified operations, we are uniquely positioned to fill a much-needed gap in the market as the sole sour gas treating plant in the region.” He said the expansion “reflects the strong need for reliable sour gas gathering and treating infrastructure in this region.”
