When the Smoke Cleared

August 13, 2026 by PBOG Leave a Comment

MIDLAND, TEXAS—Oh, the boundless glory. Bear witness, all, to the triumph, the jubilation, the tension, the passion, the mastery, the wonder, and the reverential awe that comprised the fullness of the 2026 PBPA Annual Sporting Clay Shoot and Pit King Challenge. Yes, contemplate those shining moments, and fix them in your memory. As for those who found themselves somewhere other than Jake’s Clays under the glorious skies of June 25, we say, choke back your bitter regrets and commit yourselves on your sacred honor to be in the ranks when next June’s occasion rolls around.

Meanwhile, we hail the victors and those who made the event what it was. On these pages we share some representative photos from the event, but if you want more, you can browse 127 photos taken at Jake’s Clays that day by visiting the PBPA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PermianBasinPetroleumAssociation.

Participants enjoyed breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and merch items, and were entered for raffle prizes, including guns

Next up for PBPA: the Annual Meeting, slated for September 16-17 in Midland. See pbpa.info for details.
